Baldwin College signs Memorandum of Understanding with University of Cape Coast

Baldwin College, on the 20th of August, 2015, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Cape Coast.

The University of Cape Coast was established in October, 1962, primarily to serve as a leader in teacher education in the country. It was elevated to the status of a full and independent University by an Act of Parliament in 1971 (Act 390) and subsequently the University of Cape Coast Law 1992 (PNDC Law 278). It is an equal opportunity University, uniquely placed to provide quality education through the provision of comprehensive, liberal and professional programmes that challenge learners to be creative, innovative and morally responsible citizens. The University of Cape Coast currently has a total student population of 66,635 comprising 20,142 Regular students, 4,493 Sandwich students and 42,000 Distance Learning students.

The Chancellor of Baldwin College, Dr. Akwasi A. Achampong signed for Baldwin while the Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, Prof. D. D. Kuupole did same for his university.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding signified the formalization and the commencement of the affiliation of Baldwin College to the University of Cape Coast.

Dr. Stephen T. Odonkor, Vice President and Mr. Ohene K. Abbu-Bonsra, Registrar of Baldwin College were present at the ceremony including Mr. Jeff T. Onyame, Deputy Registrar, Division of Academic Affairs of University of Cape Coast and other officials from the University of Cape Coast.

Baldwin College is also affiliated with the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) to run Higher National Diploma Programmes in Business Administration and Medical Laboratory Technology.

The College received its accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) on the 1st of September, 2014.
